    Hey just curious......

What are the major differences between these two modles.
The only things I can see are the style, screen size and the bluetooth....

Im deciding between these two and im leaning more towards the z70 just due to the price, but the w3 looks nice and if it offers more i would rethink my choice.

My primary use is for watching movies word apps and light gamming.

    Thanks for your help!!

I too have this similar dilema.
But here's how I see it.

w3v is ultimate in portability gaming. Its small form factor ensures you can easily fit it into a small backpack for lugging around anywhere. It's got the "hotswap" bay where you can either put in a optical drive or a secondary battery. Looks really sharp too. Alot of people will notice the blue led power button on the side and the brushed aluminum isn't too shabby either. However with its price point, really puts it up there in terms of luxury item(?)

z70v to me is kinda like a desktop-replacement-portable-gaming notebook. It's for the budget consumer who would like to get their money's worth in investing in a notebook. 15.4" screen would be perfect for long hours of gaming or typing (I know it's bigger than my CRT monitor right now) With its 15.4" screen and bigger form factor, you might need a bigger bag to carry it in.. but it's still portable... it looks sharp.. but not as sharp as the w3v.. (drool)

I hope someone would comment on the differences between the screens... as I understand it, w3v has a colorshine screen (which means ??? to me)

I guess the questions comes down to, "Does style determine your budget, or budget determine your style?"

the w3v's colorshine is a glaretype screen that seems to be all the rage these days. personally i like the z70v screen better as it supports higher resolution than the w3v. both models offer the hotswap bay for battery and optical drive. also, the w3v has a built in bluetooth module while the z70v does not. but other than a smaller size and weight i dont see what else the w3v has that the z70v does not.

What kind of gaming? FPS? Could you list the games?

I personally would like to be able to play CS:S on my laptop when I feel like I don't want to do any work :)

They will both handle the latest games, there questions you have to ask yourself is:
    1. How often will I be moving it around?
    2. How big of a screen do I want?

I have a W3v, and yea, it looks good (Droool) I still drool at it when I have it sitting on a desk somewhere. You get questions at hotspots too, like what kind of computer is that?

    Basically WoW and BF2

Hopefully theyll be able to handle those games (obviously at a lower setting than my desktop :p )

But ive made my decesion with the z70v from ISTNC
    ( http://istnc.com/store/products.php?cat=124 )

Basically I don't really need the bluetooth (although it would be nice) and a larger screen size would benefit me more

ummm budget  college student here

I think it's like $200 cheaper if you got it from Geared2Play with the same specs. And then after that, you'll still get the student discount to save even more.

Well, if you were on a budget you should've gotten in on the $200 rebate deal that ended yesterday.

You know i see this time and time again and i am little confused why people think that the z70v is less portable then the w3v? They are in the same weight class. Yes the z70v is bigger but w3 is thicker. I find the portability difference between those two is minimal. If gaming is a priority go for the z70v. Simply put the screen is more suitable for gaming. Pretty sure the z70v is way cheaper even with the what is now expired rebate. Hopefully they will bring it back yet again

yeah you make a good point...i think its the screen size that gives the deception of being more "portable" all-in-all i think the z70v is more bang for the buck compared to the w3
