Is there models that work with this battery that last longer? Anywhere u know i can get a good deal on one besides ebay. Also how do u switch batteries without the comp turning off?

plug the power cord in a few seconds....

Not sure if you can hibinate the system, it may need power (battery) to keep the info in the RAM. Give it a try if you are NOT afraid of BSOD :D

z70v/z70va use M6 series battery such as the previous models m6ne/m6bne/m6n, and so on. M6 series battery is standardized to all of these and can be fit to your model as long as you get a M6 series battery.
    Cheers

You are right. Thats the optical bay battery. it is a 6 cell 3800mah. You can hibernate the laptop on battery and replace it without a problem. You can not do that with standby. These batteries are end of life now. 130$ is msrp and what they go for now.
