    Hi,

    I am about to buy a z70v and would like to have dvi out and speaker out for my desk at home. I read about the portbar III and saw some pics here and it doesn't offer much. Is there anything else available?

    Well, the PB3 is going to offer a lot.... for a little 1.5" x 7" bar..... but it does't offer a digital audio out or dvi or those things. The PB3 is also more than 2 years old, so maybe we'll see a PB4 this year on one of the models and maybe it'll offer just that.

    Also the power pass through on the PortBar 3 is not supported for the Z70a , as the Z70 has a higher power requirement.

    Have you or Asus certified passing 90w through it? I know you pulled it off the Z70 page after I asked and you guys got one answer from Asus that it had not been tested. Has this changed?

    Asus' official word is they shouldn't suggest it....

    ... however, it works... because all the port bar does is pass the power through the unit.... I've used it myself, many others still use it.... we just can't link the two items together because it hasn't been certified for the 90w PS.....
