Hi I bought an Asus Z70va laptop about 2 months ago. Know whenever I turn on the laptop on battery power, it wont turn on. When its plugged in it turns on perfectly. Also if I turn it on while plugging it in and then after everything has loaded, take out the ac asapter (so the laptops back in battery mode), the laptop again turns off.

Also note that it doesn't turn directly off but rather the fans turn on fast and the poer light lights up (as if it were going to boot up. This same thing happens when I press the power button and the laptop is off. Also, when in windows mode, the laptop shows that the battery is fully charged.

I have no idea what the problem could be. I have tried taking the battery out and putting it back in but still the same symptoms.

I think this problem could have occured when my notebook went into standby mode and wouldn't come out of it.
So i held down the power button to get it to shutdown but after that it wouldn't work in battery mode.

Has any one had this problem? I have no idea what could be wrong, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a battery connection problem.

Don't be alarmed yet. Remove your battery from the Unit and used compressed air (canned air) and blast it right where the copper connections are(also do this on the laptop).
Once complete, reconnect the battery and test it again.

If the problem still occurs, you may have a battery that is failing to discharge properly.

Try contacting your reseller about it.
They may send you a new battery, but it may be a power issue on the mobo...

Asus service center will replace a new one for customers, the same as z71v's battery if a battery cannot be fully charged.
