I bought my z70va about a year and a half ago from geared2play.com and have been nothing but happy with it. After a year and a half it still runs as well as the day I bought it. I'm a grad student and I'm not a gamer so it hasn't been worked all that hard.

Here's my problem. About a month ago all of a sudden the bottom third of my screen cut out. It doesn't go black, it just sort of gets real blurry and is like a bunch of vertical lines. The color is just a representation of whatever should be on the screen. It doesn't affect the top 2/3 of the screen at all and I can still move the mouse down through the bottom and click on things actively (if I could see it). So- it must be just with the screen.

I can fix the problem- but in order to do that I have to almost bend/twist the screen and that CAN'T be good for it. The problem started out just the once, then once in a blue moon, and now it's constant- almost every time I turn the computer on, touch/move the screen at all.

I didn't get an extended warranty, so mine ran out about 4 months ago. Any suggestions on what could be causing it or what I could do? I've searched a bunch of forums and it doesn't seem like anyone else has had this problem, so I wonder if it's something that I've been doing? Maybe pulling the screen up and down from the side of it instead of the middle? Do I have to replace the whole screen? Would it even be worth doing that or buying a new machine- which I can't really afford to do?

Thanks for the help! I'm a bit stumped on what to do.
