Thanks to all on this forum for their advice -- just got my new z71v from ISTNC over the weekend, and it suits me much better than the Inspiron 9300 that I'd tried out earlier.
One question: I will be traveling to Europe (Turkey and Russia) this weekend, and wanted to know if I needed to get another power adapter for those 220V places, or if I just need to get a converter for the plug so that I can plug my current power adapter into the Euro wall sockets. Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks again.

I believe the adapter itself is automatic 110/220v, so you will only need an adapter plug (probably 5-15 bucks, depending on model and quality) for the Euro wall sockets.

That's correct..... all you "need" is a convertor plug as the powersupply auto switches. If you need the exact plug you needed and you traveled their often, you could also just pick up the cord part of the power supply... but really that's a waste unless you're there all the time and there is only one type of plug you'll need.
