Thanks Eddie... I wonder why intel took it off... I never looked at it before. Is the S96 version still on intel's site, or were they the same version? Is there anything different with the new BIOS, other than Merom support?

 

I didnt notice nothing different other then merom support and an absence of the bios flash utility which was there on one of these that i tested. Dunno where it went. Maybee it wasnt even the 96 which had this util in bios. I am looking my mind

 

No affects on fan useage or battery life? Not asking you do go out of your way to do more tests... just wondering if you noticed anything.

Eddie, I cant help but notice that you are offering the Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHz (merom) now on the S96j and Z96j. I'm also very curious how battery time differs from Yonah with the new bios. Thanks!

 

Didnt test the battery all that much. Didnt have time. Only tested the stability and functionality of the system. No noticeable temp difference. Few degrees during benchmarking. We have a very limited supply of the meroms.

 

I didn't mean temps, but rather the temps that the fan comes on... for the Z96, the fan doesn't come on until the processor hits like 50C. It could easily keep the temps way lower if the fan were just on low.

 

Where can I find the 1101 Motherboard BIOS for my Z96Js with T7200?
