    Hey guys,

My Dell XPS 15" 9550 just arrived. It came with 'Windows 10 Home x64'. So I wanted to do a clean install of 'Windows 10 Pro x64' however I'm having issues detecting the USB drive.

I have the single 256GB M.2 NVMe SSD that came with the laptop.
I currently have these options selected in the BIOS:
    - Boot List Option = UEFI
    - Advance Boot Options = Enable Legacy Option ROMs
    - Secure boot = OFF
    - Sata Operation = RAID

I have used Rufus and selected "GPT Scheme only", I have tried using the ISO straight from Windows and through the media creation tool ISO.

I was not able to see the USB on UEFI boot (during F12). I have manually went to 'Boot Sequence' selected 'efi/boot/bootx64.efi' from the file name and selected the USB under 'File system list'.

At this point I was able to boot into the USB showing up under UEFI, sadly I was not able to find the SSD under the partition list during Windows installation. All i saw was USB's partition...

I need help desperately as I have tried multiple things multiple times.

    Thanks

UPDATE: Apparently you need to install the 'Intel RAID RST chipset' for the drive to be recognised during Windows setup.

PS: If I was to add HDD would I need to change the sata RAID option to AHCI ?

Just download my ISO, it will save you a lot of messing about.
    Personally
    Secure boot = on
    Legacy = off

After I have installed Windows will there be a problem changing secure boot to 'on' and legacy 'off'?

I was successfully able to install Windows 10 using UEFI and GPT

Yes you have to pick the mode before you install.

I see what about RAID / AHCI ? I'm using RAID atm which came by default. This is the ATTO benchmark which I'm quite happy about.

Also do you know if there would be an issue if I was to add HDD ? Would using RAID as sata option be a problem?

I couldn't find my hdd last night after a fresh install on an ssd. I went into device config. and changed the hdd to NON-RAID and it works perfectly.

    Done,
    - Secure boot = On
    - Legacy = Off

For some reason it recognised the USB straight off the bat now.

Where do I find the trackpad drivers? It seems like it's a little glitchy.

Drivers are pulled from microsoft, no alternative unless you find the synaptics post and follow the hack he uses.
