    Hi L502x users,

I created a custom L502x tool to map three "dell" buttons ("Dell Windows Mobility Center", "Dell Instant Launch Manager","Waves Audio") above the keyboard to three power schemes in Windows. ( They were useless to me until now :mad2: )

This make sense because I can now quickly switch from the "70% fanless" scheme to "High Performance" and back. :GEEK: It works with your "custom" schemes as well.

It runs well with a minimum install of the dell quickset drivers already present. I did not install any extra Dell software: For example, I do not have the "Dell Windows Mobility Center" and "Dell Instant Launch Manager" installed. It should still work in case you have this software installed.

If you like it, you can put it in your Startup folder for Windows.

Would be nice if you leave some feedback.

    Cool.

I already use the Dell Instant Launch Manager for something. But, it would be great if you could generalize your tool to allow us to map whatever we want to the Windows Mobility Center and WAVES Audio buttons.

The Waves Audio button cannot be mapped (without starting the Waves Audio at the same time), but I will fix that now. Plus, there is no reason one could not map other apps to the three buttons, but the power schemes I thought were most important because of the fan noise, which is very annoying with the L502x line :nah:

If you want something else mapped, let me know and I add it to the options at once!!

I upped Version 2 -> You can now map the power schemes in a dialog to your buttons. It also remembers the mappings after a Windows restart. Hope it helps.

Wow! unreal! I was looking for this when I first for this a month ago, and now just found it while looking for an image of the mobility center (wondering what's missing: have less apps since fresh install)

alas, the link is now dead... Does anyone have a copy they can share?

    Thanks

also (while I'm here) does anyone have an l502x (dvd rw, not blu-ray) win7 homepremium?

can you confirm if bluetooth radio should be installed as default, or was that an icon on my mobility center that didn't do anything?

upgraded to ultimate 7 x64 with new ssd, but had to manually install EVERYTHING.

    THANK YOU :)
