About to pull the trigger on one and was at first set on getting the matte screen but am now thinking the QHD is worth the extra cash?
I will be using this predominantly for work but why not use for a video here and there, have a nicer viewer experience and future proof it as well?

Was wondering what peoples thoughts were in general, if/how much hotter the machine gets and how much battery is lost when using the QHD screen.

    Any thoughts/advice are welcome. Thanks!

Absolutely recommend QHD. The price is extremely reasonable if you think about it..

I got the matte version because I hate glare (I stare at the screen a lot for coding), it's 0.2 lb lighter, longer battery life , windows scaling issues for applications, quieter fan as it pushes less pixels (not 100% on this) and I won't have to worry about fingerprints or keyboard marks on the LCD. Hope that helps a bit. However, it seems most people like to touch things.

This sums up my reasoning too.

Although I would prefer a Glossy screen @ 1080p, I will make do with matte so I don't have to endure squinting at all my blurry or tiny application windows. No use for a touch screen on something which isn't a 2-in-1.

    And battery life is paramount.

Of course in Dell's infinite wisdom they delayed the FHD models UK release until at least March. Although it has given me plenty of time to listen to all the battery woes of the QHD'ers.

I would agree with Dellienware that the QHD screen price (in the UK at least) is reasonable considering the units i7 & good SSD spec. That being said, I have ordered the 1080p screen version from the US as I have previously owned the Lenovo Yoga 2 pro with its very high resolution screen and found it too difficult (despite windows's good scaling options) to work with at 13" with many of the programmes I use. I don't use many modern apps where I believe the scaling is much better. I would recommend at least looking at a 13" QHD screen in a shop to see what you think. That being said maybe at 31yrs my eyesight isn't what it was!
