    Hi,

We've just got some new dell laptops & the dell battery meter now gives the option to run in desktop mode, which prevents the battery getting ruined if you're always running on mains. It seems like a good feature, so I wondered if it was possible to get it on the L502X?

I gather the dell battery meter is part of Quickset? If so, can I just get a version of quickset for a newer laptop & use it on the L502X? Has anyone tried this, and if so, did they get the desktop mode option?

    Thanks!

I haven't heard of this desktop mode. In XPS 17 there isn't such option.

On an L502X, why not just take the battery out? That way heat from the laptop won't degrade it either. That said, there is an option in Dell Battery Saver or whatever that says "stop charging the battery when it reaches 100%."
