    Hi.

I've just gone to install win 7 when I ran into a big thread about m1530 and x64 win7 here on the forum (in which there's no answer to this question).

I am interested what the differences are between x64 and x86 Windows 7 on m1530(i.e. in stability, performance, driver availability, else...).

    My configuration is:
    Intel core2duo 2.1GHz T8100
    4 GB ram
    GeForce 8600 GT
Intel 82801HEM/HBM SATA AHCI controller - says device manager (500GB hdd)
    Intel PRO/ Wireless 3945ABG

and the rest is irrelevant, isn't it...?

    Thanks for your help ;)

I'm on 7 x64 and it's exactly the same as the 32bit version. The major difference is that you will be able to access all 4Gb of you RAM, rather than 3.5Gb

Thanks for the explanations. What about the drivers? Are all the drivers compatible with the x64 Win7 or will there be a painful transition?

btw, I'm running vista home premium 32 bit (pre-installed by Dell)

Almost all the drivers are detected by Windows. If not it is easy enough to get 64 bit drivers for it.
