Well, I ordered this XPS 1530:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=266261

It came last Friday, and after a bit of consideration, I decided against a full reformat and just removed bloatware manually (not that there was much of it, compared to previous Dell laptops - or at least that was my impression).

Had lots of work to do all day, but finally got a chance to finish software installation and all the other housekeeping that evening.

My initial thoughts was that the computer seemed to be running extremely hot, but once I'd updated with the latest LaptopVideo2Go drivers, the temps got under control.

Since then, I've been using it pretty hard, for work during the days, and some gaming at night. Haven't tried it with anything extremely demanding yet, but overall, I'm extremely happy with the performance. Vista takes a bit of getting used to, but no real complaints there (especially after completing the tips and tweaks).

Overall, no real complaints. LED video is simply amazing. Putting it side by side with my old laptop was just stunning in the difference. I was hesitant about the 900x1440 screen (my last laptop was 1050x1680, and I was afraid of losing the real estate) but after a week, can't say I miss it.

New keyboard layout is taking a bit of getting used to, but its not too far off what I'm used to, and in some ways makes more sense. On the other hand, build quality is excellent - absolutely no complaints. Well, maybe one - the laptop is so much lighter compared to my last one, that opening the laptop really requires two hands, because I need to hold down the bottom half while lifting up the screen. ;)

Anyways, Two thumbs up. Just wanted to get a positive review out there.

I suppose I should do some benchmarking, but I've never really been that into it to go that far. I'm also considering overclocking the GPU and undervolting the CPU...what are the actual performance enhancements I can expect from overclocking the GPU?

Well I havent tried overclocking the GPU but I got a really good undervolt on my T7250 (From all multipliers being set at 1.7500V to now 1.250 and the lowest of 6x at 0.950)

I heard the most the GPU clock can get up to is about 550Mhz which is the 8700M GT clocks...

    Also great review!
