Okay i've had this for a while and i want to know if anybody else gets it:

Occasionally, not always, when i plug my dell xps m1330 to the power, it goes extra slow. i check the cpu usage and its like 95-100% all the time. I tried looking if maybe a proccess is causing this but no, nothing special.

The thing is: i've experminted with the issue and: the second i unplug the cord, the computer returns normal and the cpu usage drops. i plug it back in and the cpu usage is @ 100% again.

any idea why? how to fix? if this is normal?

as I mentioned this doesn't happen everytime, but every time it does, it is consistent when testing (plugging the power in and out).

    thanks!

Have you checked the process which has the max CPU usage ??
Indexing normally makes the HDD go wild.

I've had the same problem with my Dell Inspiron E1505. The only way for me to get it to stop is to pull the battery. I've noticed that it is related to my daughter logging in/out to another account while my user account is active.

When I opened up the Task Manager, taskmgr.exe was using most of the processing time, approx. 45%. My browser was using around 25%. I'll try to investigate more when it happens the next time.

Goto power settings and check the maximum processor state when charging. Max should be 100% and lowest at 1% of usage :D
