So I received an e-mail today about the new XPS 14z laptop from Dell. The base model starting at $999.99. Like all other Z series laptops, you cannot customize the CPU, RAM & Hard Drive. It is sold with 3 pre-set models. Two with the i5, and one with the i7.

For more info, go to Dell's website -> XPS 14z Laptop Details | Dell

I'm a huge fan on my XPS M1210, and wish they would come out with another 12" XPS. I talked to Customer Service, via Dell Chat, and they couldn't tell me if a standard XPS 14" will be released (non-Z), or if a 12" is in the works.

    shady advertising.

look in the tech specs and it merely says the display is "720p"
They dont want to post the actual resolution in fear that shoppers will then compare to other laptops and not purchase the XPS.
thats far from, "technical" specs that they listed those details under.

Back to waiting for the samsung I go, Quad core + 1600x900 screen.

I'm still happy with my l502x. While I like the 14" form factor, the screen (I love the 1080p on the XPS) and "sealed" system keep me away from the Z series. Guess I'm just old fashion

I was just taking a look at the manual and when I saw this part I went wow...

    Documentation

So at this point we don't know what the real resolution ofr this one is, right?
Far cry from the usual 4 or 5. I guess they really want to keep it "sealed"

Actually, they do list the resolution, down at the bottom of the tech specs:

    Display14” High Definition (720p) WLED with TrueLife™ with edge-to-edge glass ( 1366x768); 200-nit typical

My post was made 9 days ago :D

    before it was limited to,
    "14” High Definition (720p) WLED with TrueLife™"

regardless a flop to me. Manufacturers are now gearing to cater to more economical sales rather than trying to make a masterpiece or even give people the option to opt for a high end unit. Sad.
