    Hi,

I ws planning on getting the new 1530 but can't understand why they would offer such a low res screen....

    My question is this:
    - My main issue is that I will connect this up daily to an external screen. What is the maximum resolution I can output over the DVI or HDMI of the 1330 or 1530?
    - Does either have a docking port?
    - Is the LED backlit version available in Canada of the 1330? What is the resolution of the screen compared to the standard version?

    Thanks!

You know if you wait just a bit longer they are going to have the higher res screens.

    Thanks for the reply.
Will they be higher res for both 1330 and 1530?

What about the video output resolution? I want to connect up to a 20" widescreen (1600x xxxx)....

    Thanks.

Yeah, you should be able to output a 1600x1050 with the HDMI or VGA outputs.(you might to order a HDMI to DVI cable)

I don't know what is the maximum resolution, but the output resolution should be no problem.

Dell used to offer the LED backlit screen in Canada, but no longer as of recently.

Should I wait for the LED screens to come back to Canada or will they not come back?

How long till higher res 1530 screens?

I'm leaning towards the 1330 as I have an inspiron 700m and can live with the small screen as long as I can output widescreen to 1600x1050 as with the 700m I cannot...

What about a docking station? I know the 1330 doesn't have one but I can't find info about the 1530.

    Thanks guys.

There have been a few threads here recently about Dell dropping the LED screens from Canada. Apparently the Dell reps are saying it will not be coming back.

If you don't need the laptop right away, I would suggest you wait and see. Maybe Dell will offer a higher res 1530 screen or bring the 1330 LED screen back.

The tiny M1330 will support upto a 24" monitor at its native resolution of 1920*1200 (WUXGA) for 1080p content and beyond.
