    Hi there:

My question has to do with the following: the touchpad is attached to which part of the computer? by loooking at the service manual it seems to me that it is to the palm rest, can anyone confirm this??

This since my left button has become very worn out and i will be using my complete care warranty so i can ask for a *theoritcally unless someone points out diferrent* replacement palm rest.

THis way i will be able to fully enjoy my laptoo because the touchpad issue is starting to bug me a lot.

    thx!!

I had a long standing problem with an E1705 and a faulty touchpad and stuck buttons. For several months I tried to get it replaced and they would tell me that it was a issue of wear and tear and not covered under warranty.

I asked one tech what would happen if the laptop happened to fall down the stairs and he replied that the laptop would be replaced.

I never did toss it down the stairs

So be careful what you say when you call up.

In terms of the parts... there's a palmrest but the buttons and touchpad are different components that reside underneath the top palm rest shell.

    OK, thanks for the advice.

But i'm almost sure that the touchpad is fixed to the palmrest in the 1330... can anyone confirm this?

palm rest and you just tell them it doesnt work, and you have reinstalled the drivers but it is still unresponsive and you would like to have it replaced and have a tech do it. if you have home warranty
