I've been very happy overall with my 1340, the only thing that really bugs me is the glossy finish on the wrist rest area. But beyond that its not been a problem at all. BUT I have some blemishes on my screen, on the top where the screen meets the touch pad when its closed, and also the glass/plastic/whatever it is, that covers the LCD isn't exactly flush with the case portion and I've somehow got a spec of dust in between the LCD and glass, and its very, very annoying. Its not dead pixels for sure, as it moves on the screen when viewing from a different angle.

    Any help/suggestions are appreciated.

Yes, it will. I had asked a Dell rep about this. I described it to him and he went in to have a replacement part for me.
