    What type of panel is this? TN, IPS, MVA....???

    and what type of panel is used in the 1366x768 screen?

    FHD sure isn't IPS.
    Maybe is TN.

    They're all 6-bit TN panels. If you want a laptop with an IPS panel, I think the HP EliteBook 8540w with the DreamColor 2 upgraded panel is your only option, but they start at around $2600, a decent config will run you closer to $3250. Depending on your usage, you'd probably be better off with the XPS15 B+RG and a decent external IPS monitor.
