I've had my XPS for almost half a year and have yet to find a way to improve the webcam's pathetic frame rate. I owned a VAIO before this laptop and it had an amazing camera. When I upgraded to an XPS I expected at least a comparable cam, but this thing consistently gives me 7-8 fps at 640 x 480 under the best conditions in Dell's webcam center (no third-party software interferences.) It is the only thing about this laptop that frustrates the ______ out of me.

I know this is a relatively common 1530 issue (unfortunately) and am wondering if anyone has been able to find a solution?

It's a hardware restriction of the camera itself, and sadly there is not a fix.

    Thanks for the response, Hep!

For the cost of a well stocked 1530 that's just unacceptable. Dell has once again lost a little of my respect.
