Dell exchanged my old xps 15 for a new 15z and have had a few issues with the new 15z.
The display failed a little over a week ago and when the tech came to replace it, he was unable to secure the heatsink to the processor via the screws that were part of the heat sink block. he eventually got a couple of the screw to engage and arranged for dell to send a replacement motherboard and heatsink. The unit runs as is, but the fan runs at high all of the time. The tech showed up today with the new heatsink and was unable to attach the heatsink to either motherboard. we put the old sink back and managed to get a coup0le of screws attached and Dell is sending a replacement 15z. Since the video replac ement I only get 3 hours of battery time with wireless off, and the screen turned to the lowest setting. Anyone else have this proble?

Well if the heatsink isn't seated right, it isn't cooling right and thus the fan is going to run full-bore the whole time. This will kill the battery. If the heatsink were to mount properly (which it sounds like this mobo has something off on it such that the HS can't sit correctly), then the fan would run less, battery life would be a lot better.
Your replacement system should get better battery life.
