Just like the title says, when did they have that 160gb 7200rpm, I kinda want it in my notebook. I never heard of over 100gb 7200rpm comes out lately.

There is currently no 160GB 7200RPM drive available on the market...though there will be I believe in the second half of the year. The 160GB 5400 just about matches the performance of the 100GB 7200...I've benched both.

My guess is that it's just a typo. A while back I read that they're planning to have 250gig hdd's @ 7200rpm by the end of the year but I've never heard of a 160gig 7200rpm hdd.

Interesting...they'll be in stock when the product actually ships for real though. I've heard nothing about actual availability and I checked before purchasing my current drive.

Wow...this just popped up at DailyTech. My foot is now in my mouth...

That is sweet. -
Can't say that I'm impressed. Running at about the same speed as previous 7200rpm. Extra GB's seems to be the only advantage.

Iceman0124 More news from nowhere
What else would you expect? Its still a 7200 RPM drive, larger capacity without being slower is the whole point of the drive.
-
you mean 5400rpm drive has same random access time as 7200rpm one... sorry, I'm not buying that statement.
