So I just found 1 stuck bright pixel on my new Studio XPS 16 and chatted with Dell and in like 2 seconds he offered to send me a new screen and have a tech install it. I was fairly amazed that a single stuck pixel is enough to replace - now I'm glad I got the XPS with the good warranty and stuff, that's for darn sure. I doubt most other manufacturers or laptops would get same service for 1 pixel.

On another note while I was on, I told them that my 90w adaptor gets really hot during just basic usage, like web browsing. He told me that it was completely normal and safe, yet oddly offered to also send me a new power supply immediately. I asked for the 130w but he said it was not an option.

So I'll be getting a screen, new ps, and the driver cd for Soundblaster MB (which oddly is not able to be downloaded from anywhere else on Dell's site, even my little private download place).

I got my xps 1645 wednesday and returning it tomorrow(friday). It's a beautiful system but unfortunately it still had the 90 watt power supply and after trying to convince Dell's technical support(who I think are oblivious or either ignorant) that this system needs more than just 90 watts, I'm giving it up coz I just can't believe DELL is selling a flawed laptop. I also did the audiochecks and found out that there was definitely bleeding into the other speakers which totally made me decide to return it.( after being transferred to 3 different tech support people). Please don't buy this laptop!!! We all need to make a statement to DELL!!

Sorry, but I don't agree with the audio bleeding complaint. The subwoofer is on the bottom-right of the unit. If you put your chin very close to the touchpad, you can definitely tell that the right speaker is off when balance is all the way to the left. There are simply no highs coming from it. And honestly, how often do you run your laptop with your balance all the way to the left? Lows are more omnidirectional and if you are sitting a few feet away from the unit you will not be able to tell that the sub is closer to the right.

I recently bought a 1640 which also had a stuck pixel. After googling "dell" and "stuck pixel" I found a dell page which said:
"using a soft cloth, gently rub the stuck pixel"
I tried it and it worked! it has now gone.
