I am trying to upgrade my hard drive to 1TB hard drive for a 2007 Dell XPS M1730. I was wondering if the Seagate ST1000LM048 would be compatible with it considering the fact that it is a 7mm drive and not the 9.5mm. I am in urgent need for a newer drive and appreciate all the help I can get. Thanks.

Yes, 7mm drives are compatible as a replacement for a 9.5mm drive. All of the screw holes for mounting are in the same location for both drives.

Out here in India, RAM ain't so inexpensive so I was wondering if I could put a

    CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8G) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Laptop Memory Upgrade Kit Model CMSX16GX3M2B1600C9

into my XPS m1730. Is it compatible? I don't mind even if the speed is limited to 800 mhz coz it seems cheaper than the ddr2s available here. Thanks in advance.
