My XPS 9550 4K Infinity Edge 1TB HDD 32 GB SSD 16 GB RAM NVIDIA 960M arrived today.

I was aware having read reviews that battery life would be poor, but on the lowest screen brightness I'm getting an estimated 2h 5 mins battery life remaining from full charge.

    Is it typically that bad?

Also, I'm tempted to do a fresh Windows install as I've read this is a good idea.

Will this help with the battery life? Can someone link me to a guide on how to do this? I've seen a few floating about but not sure if they are suitable for all XPS 9550 models.

    Thanks in advance.

It's probably indexing and downloading stuff.
Wait one or two days and try again
