hi all - first post on on the forum as my M1530 is only a few days old :)

I've already bought Vista Ultimate 64-bit and installed it with the advice from these forums, it worked pretty well.
a few reamining issues which i can't seem to find info on, apologies in advance for any newb ignorance :)

    1. graphics: device manager still displays "standard VGA adapter", i have a 8600M GT 256MB....? also some of the 3D screensavers don't work so i'm guessing its not installed properly. i installed 174.82 from that website laptopvideo2go or something, that wesbite provided an inf file which i copied to the driver folder, then i ran setup, which seemed to work, was that all i needed to do...?

    2. the Upek Protector Suite(Fingerprint Reader Utility), its working ok in device manager but i'm not sure how to actually use it...? there was an option in Vista 32-bit to scan when the PC first booted but i'm guessing i'm missing some software for this...?

    3. i tried to install Dell_multi-device_A17_R174292.EXE for the remote control/function keys, but it says "no compatible hardware found"....? the brightness function keys etc work though... do i need this file...?

any info would be great, but i'm already enjoying 4GB of rammy goodness on 64-bit :)

For your nvidia driver, try out 177.92 via laptopvideo2go.

Try this version of the UPEK software and see if it works for you...

The remote control and media keys should be live and functional without an additional driver. The driver you mentioned, 'R174292' is actually for Dell Wireless Cards - see this link for more info on that driver. ;)
