Hello everyone! I've got three issues I wanted to get opinions on if you don't mind:

    1) My XPS has been great so far and there is only one problem I am having right now which I have done alot of research on and haven't found a solution. I have been getting the dreaded " plugged in, not charging" with my battery, I had the original battery and it first started happening with that then I ordered an OEM and replaced it. It went away for about 6 months then came back, at that point I called dell and went through two mother boards and two new power blocks which each solved the problem short term. I have read on other forums that it is a glitch in windows vista and 7 that cause it on many different computers. I have even tried uninstalling the driver under device manager and that didn't work. Any new idea's come up about this??

    2) I'd love to upgrade my DVD drive with a bluray drive but I don't know if my computer in it's stock configuration can handle it or if I can't if I get the same one that came in the computers when they were made. like this one:
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

    3) Is it possible to put one of the Intel Core i3/5/7 processors in the computer? Not to hopeful on this topic but I thought I'd ask.

    My configuration:
    XPS M1530
    Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz
    3Gb ram
    750Gb Seagate Hybrid HDD/SSD

    Thanks everyone for your input!

You can't upgrade the processor to an i series, the socket is different. You could easily upgrade to 4GB of RAM though, although DDR2 prices are a little steep now.

I was noticing that, I actually thought about going for 8GB on newegg but I don't know if there is a speed gain from doing that.

I think the biggest thing I need is a bluray drive.

One last bump, I don't want to buy this drive and not be able to use it. If it helps the ebay item says it uses an IDE plug.
