I would like to ask if it is possible to have some (f.e.32 GB) SSD in Express Cars slot and have a operation system on it ? So the HDD will not be used [will be but not for OS].

If your BIOS will support booting from the SSD it is possible.
However, it is not practical right now for regular use.
It is workable when the HD is corrupted with a bot/malware/trojan/virus and you want to fix it from outside.

It is workable as a movie database or similar useage.

Why do you want to boot off SSD as working OS?

I was just wondering if is it worth it. But now I see that even Win XP is slow on it , not even Vista.

I am just trying to find some new quicker and cheaper (like SSD hard disk drive interface ) way to speed up my PC.

    Thanks for coments.

If you dont need a lot of storage space, swap your existing HDD for an SSD in the 32gb range. Use it for your OS and apps and use an external solution for your media, etc. This is how im set up now with all my work files on SD card.

Look at the architecture of your laptop.
The main highway is between the CPU and SDRAM memory.
The next highway is between the SDRAM memory and the hard drive.
Everything else is third layer from there.

Do you see where you can speed things up?
Upgrade CPU and Memory. You already have a 7200 rpm HD.
Keep the HD defragged and turn the OS from "Best Appearance" to "Best Performance".

Don't allow every program you install to place a startup file running in your memory. Sometimes will show as an icon right bottom of task bar.

There are things you can do limited by your cash flow and willingness to change computer habits.

    Good Luck,
    Chetanji
