I just ran 3dmark, and these were the results. After doing research, my l502x should have atleast 7200 as a result.
I have the nvidia 525m, 8gig ram, i7-2680QM. What is causing such low results?

Still a low score though, my sig notebook which has less powerful processor gets 8600 on stock ( 1280x720 ).

I dont think so. There's a number of threads out there of people with the same laptop receiving same scores. Maybe you have an OC'ed or something, but an 8600 score with those specs seems unrealistic. Someone let me know though if I'm missing something.

Or because your laptop is incapable of 1280 x 1024, so it defaulted to 1280x720 which is obviously easier to run. My 3dmark06 defaults to 1280x1024

that is normal. FHD resolution slow.
if you need faster. buy GTX series card up to 10000.

Maze your cpu score is low. Maybe your power adapor can't handle your computer or you need to clean your cpu area e.g dust and apply thermal paste.
