Thinking of ordering an XPS 15 but I have no idea which model to get. All I know is I want the one with dedicated graphics (for some gaming). Can anyone shed some light on the major differences between the 61WHr and 91WHr configurations? How much more battery life can I expect from the 91WHr model? Is the price premium worth it if I intend to keep the laptop for more than a year? I am not a stickler for HDD performance so I'd be more than happy with the mechanical drive.

Since I'd be using the laptop mostly in the office and at home, size isn't a major factor. Also, I hear the GeForce GTX 850M is coming out soon. Any possibility Dell would choose these for an upcoming revision anytime soon?

Please help me decide - thanks guys. :)

I have the Base model 9530 with the 61W battery, and it gets a little over 3 Hours with light usage like surfing and writing letters, etc.

With the 91 Whr version, you get exactly 91/61 = 1.49 times the batter life of the 61 Whr version.

On second thought, you might actually get a slightly better battery life than this since there will be some power savings in replacing the mechanical hdd with the ssd.
