I have a feeling this not strictly a Dell issue, but did anybody successfully install the 64-bit version of the Java Plug-in? For me it installs fine and I can see the new Control Panel item (no longer in 32-bit), but IE7 doesn't see it and it thinks it doesn't have a Java plug-in installed.

I got the 64-bit version from here, first item on the page:

    Thanks.

Why not post it in the Windows/Software forum then?
That said, is it not possible for you to have 32 and 64 bit Java installed at the same time?

    Admins, please move the thread.

Yes, I can have 32 and 64 at the same time, but I don't want to, if I can help it.

You need to be using 64-bit version of IE to use Java x64. Also, make sure you enabled Java plugin in Java control panel.
FYI, you can't use Flash on any 64-bit browser in Windows.

Thanks for that -- I just assumed that I was using the 64-bit browser since I have Vista 64-bit running, but I see that's not the case. Yes, not having Flash is a showstopper.
