Should be coming in tomorrow via DHL, but i'm not sure if I want to run 32 or 64 bit of Vista. Afaik, the only issue with 64 bit is drivers for devices, and the only external devices i will have will be my mp3 player, printer, and tv card. I also have 4 gigs of RAM in the machine.

Any ideas/suggestions of which version i should go with? It's also the Home Premium Edition. You don't have to have a M1710 to respond! :)

As far as i know, 64bit has pretty good support right now, but still i would personally stick to 32 bit atleast for another year. (thats what im planing on doing at least)

one thing cl0wn...AFAIK M1710 is a Napa platform notebook and it's using Intel 945 series motherboard (probably 945 GM, but my memory might be failing me..and Dell doesn't give that info on their site) and as such it won't be able to address more than 3.3-3.5 GB RAM even with 64bit OS. It's chipset limitation and this barier was recently broken with Santa Rosa platform (Intel 965 series). 32bit OS can usually see around 3.2-3.4 GB RAM (depending on system configuration) anyway so I wouldn't bother with 64bit if I was in your shoes.

if you want to check it further contact Dell ;)

You can dual boot but at the boot option, it can be a bit confusing unless you have two distinct editions/modified the boot menu. Anyway, i'll recommend using 32bit as 64bit is still not very mature. It's a solid OS except for a few minor glitches with important software.
