    Hey there!

You don't need to worry about *upgrading* your 6 cell to a 9 cell...The 1530 is made for either.

Just go ahead and order the 9 cell from Dell, and place it on the back of your 1530..It's that easy! ;) :)

Then, you can use the 6 cell for when you are *out-and-about* (if you don't want to use the 9 cell), or have it as an extra *battery backup* per se! ;) :)

The 9 cell is awesome...it elevates the back of the 1530 a bit, and because of this ~ provides great ventilation underneath ;) :)

    Hope that helps,

    Cin ;) :)

    hi cin
    tyvm for your quick reply,
i will order soon, just now tried callin dell, they say it takes around few weeks to deliver 9 cell, i will place an order n probably wait for it.
till en i will stick on to the 6 cell.

    have another question Cin.
does the battery go dead, if we dont use it for long time?
just wonder, or do i need to use the batteries alternatively, i mean switchin to 6 cell n 9 cell frequently to keep em in good condition.

    thx again
    have a nice day
    bye

Hey no problem ;) :D Glad to be of help to you!...

Try to get the 9 cell ordered..the sooner you get it ordered, it puts off a day of waiting ;) :)

Yes the battery will go dead if you don't use it for awhile...That is why I alternate between both batt's weekly! ;) :)

What you already are thinking and per my ^^^paragraph above..that is a good idea.

The other nice thing of having 2 batt's is that if something go's wrong with one, you have the other to fall back on! ;) )

Case in point: A few months ago my batt/adapter wouldn't hold a charge (there was a problem with the socket)...While waiting for the Dell Tech. to come and fix...I attempted to use my 6 cell, so I could at least use my lappy for a bit...Well, I hadn't used the 6 cell in a bit...and the battery for me was too drained to even get 5 min of usage! ;) :)

    Cin ;) :)

hey, I just ordered a one today and cust support said they would upgrade my battery from 6 cell to 9 cell for about 82$ Is it worth it??

Also would it make the laptop heavier? I wanted one light-medium one..

    Thnks!

    Hi!Hi!

Yes, I think the 9 cell is definitely worth it....for $82.00 that's not bad compared to the full price of almost $300 now! ;) :) I'd rather pay $82.00 any day vs. $300.00 :D

The weight of the 1530 alone is 5.9 lbs, with the 6 cell its 6 lbs, and with the 9 cell it's 6.29 lbs..so it add's just bit of weight (not much). So bet. the 2 batt's your talking .29.. ;) I have no problem with the 9 cell..it doesn't make it feel any heavier (not that I have noticed), and it has been a *ease of use* for me ;) I also have the 6 cell, too!

I think you will like the 9 cell..it's elevates the back of the notebook, and provides some ventilation underneath, and for me I can get almost 4 hours of battery life out of it ;) :)

It depends..do you want your lappy to lay flat w/the 6 cell, or do you want better battery life, and some elevation on the lappy? ;) :)

Hope that helps! Good luck! :)

    Cin ;) :)

9 cell is definitely worth it. If you spend a lot of time with the notebook on your lap, you won't like it but on a desk the 9 cell gives you a nice typing angle.
