The Dell 174.31 driver is a very good driver. One of the better ones available.

Get it on Dell's support site, under the 1330 model i believe.

Thanks I found it. Question though, if its listed for the 8400 GS, I'm assuming it works with the 8600 GT?

If that's true, how come the driver listed under the m1530 is different from this one. It looks like its a couple months older.

Yes it will work fine for the 8600m GT. This is the driver I'm currently using.

There is no logic as to why it isn't also listed under the 1530, since it is the perfect driver for it.

Yep, Dell's 174.31 is the best driver for the 8600M-GT (and no doubt many other cards also). It has offered the best performance of any driver I've tried and seems compatible with most games too.

    174.31
You can download the driver directly from Dell. You don't need the modified ones.

    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=17737

any difference from the dell one and the laptopvideo2go?

    edit:
and whats the difference between the 174.31 and the 174.74.
seems the 174.74 is more popular as it has much more posts so more downlaods?

Why don't you just download the one from Dell and be done with it?

On LV2G, don't assume a driver is good by the number of posts in the thread. It has no relevance.

I just installed 174.31, which I downloaded from the M1330 drivers list. I removed the factory installed drivers in safe mode first. So far, so good with 174.31.
