    can anyone pppppplease tell me
    what it it like to use the battery that comes with the dell m1710 XPS
    ??the web site says it last about 2 hours?

    ALSO - is it true that the 512 vide card ge force would chew up alot more battery that the 256 ge force video card??

    i kno wll about it depending on activity

    im jujst asking anyone who actually has one

    if they leave it "on" and do not use it at all.

    whill it die in say 1 hr - 3 hours s etc

    Yes it does depend on activity, but if the review is written by Dell the chances are that they are wrong - Dell have just been going further and further downhill. I suggest you read an independant review like on this site to find out. As you mentioned if they don't actually talk about battery time I suggest you google it and make sure that the information is coming from an independant source.

    i have alrwday done that

    i have read so many reviews for this p.c

    they are all good reviewes biut no one really talks about battery life....

    ill wait and see if any users here who own that p.c

    will write and tell

    The XPS M1710 gets about 2 hours of battery life on the low end, and you could probably push it to 2.5 if you turned down the screen brightness:

    it gives u the option to pay and extra $40 to
    have the "personalisation shield"

    what doe sthis measn?

    any tips ir pictures aof how a m1710 looks with and without a shield?
