so today I took the plunge of buying a 9 cell battery for my m1530 in ebay it was a 7200mah/85mWH. I was wondering if anyone bought this battery here before and if its any good?
i looked at genuine dell batteries and its out of my budget...and my 6 cell can only hold an hour of charge after 1 and a Half year of use.
Thanks for your help guys

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
"bought from eBay" is too vague a description. There are tens of different third-party batteries being sold on eBay and the quality ranges from absolute junk to decent. I would generally avoid buying batteries from eBay unless they're genuine Dell parts, but with luck you got something usable.

Personally, I wouldn't trust this battery, but you've got a 24-month warranty so it's hard to go wrong. In the worst case scenario, if something goes wrong, you can file a Paypal claim, and Paypal usually favors buyers.

goes wrong? like if the battery fries my laptop or something?
...well to be honest i have dont really have a choice since my 6 cell is 40% worn out

Ebay batteries are fine. I actually think they are better than Dell ones for one important reason. The circuitry on the Dell batteries doesn't let you increase the capacity of the battery if it ever dropped. For example you might refresh a battery by cycling or freezing it, but Dell batteries won't let you benefit from this. Also you can replace the cells in an Ebay battery and it will get the full charge. The Dell battery won't let the capacity ever increase so this is not doable. I would not be worried about any made in China Ebay battery. Where do you think official Dell batteries come from? They might not be made in the same factory, but they use the same components. And if these batteries were going bad, damaging computers, or were otherwise faulty, they wouldn't be able to keep making and selling them and you would hear about all of these horror stories.
