M1330, is over a year old now.

Battery doesn't seem to be charging past 70%, left it for about 8 hours and it's now on 71%.

Is my battery dying or something? It's on charge quite a lot.

You may want to try discharging the battery to 10-15% using a BIOS setting or merely running it at full till it dies. Then recharge it all the way and see. This will help reset the battery memory and give you an accurate health rating.

Try checking the Dell Battery Meter, Battery Health tab, if you haven't done that yet. You'll see the health status of your battery and whether it is time to replace it or not.

    Thanks.

Yeah, it looks like it's dying alright, it charges up to 100% again now, but the battery has cut out and died suddenly on two occasions with little notice when the % got close to 30. Only problem is that I don't feel like shelling out £150 for a new battery, especially before my student loan comes through.

Just another thing I may as well ask about, the volume display for the dell quickset program seems to have disappeared for some reason. Yuo know when you play with the volume buttons on an M1330, there's a little bar that comes up so you know the level of the speakers? It doesn't come up any more for some reason.

I also saw the specs of the new M1330s today, mine feels impotent now. And the build quality seems better.

Edit: Nevermind, it seems to be the battery is dying, replace it message. As soon as that pop up disappears, quickset ceases to function properly

@ Tabris: If you are feeling daring, there are many tutorials about how to renovate laptop batteries with simple hardware store supplies and a couple electrical components. Of course this could seriously damage your laptop and/or brick it, but I just know there are guides out there. Ebay or various battery supplies (just check customer review site before ordering) will be your best bet. GL
