    Hi,

I have read somewhere that the 9-cell battery sticks out at the bottom of the XPS 17, is this true? The sales person I talked to denies it...

    Thanks!

    It does indeed.
However, I actually find it useful. It gives a good airflow at the bottom of the system and makes typing on the machine more comfortable. The protruding part of the battery also gives a nice handle to carry the computer around too.
