This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Does anyone know the difference between these two?

    I have a new 17" xps on the way and I originally just ordered the standard Windows 7 included with the model because I didn't see any reason I would benefit from more.

    I am now finding out only upgraded versions facilitate some kind of Windows remote access service built into it. I have also read that gotmypc.com provides a similar service.

    My main question is if anyone has any idea if there are any big differences between these two services for remotely accessing my computer when away from it. If so, which do you prefer? Also, can I upgrade to a better version of windows when I get my new computer if that is the better path?


    Sorry again for this being in a dell forum, but thsi XPS forum is like my home and has pretty much been where all my posts have ever been. The responses here always seem really helpful so I didn't want to venture to another part of the forums :)
