    Hey Guys again.
I recentley just formatted my M1330 and installed the AHCI driver but i am still getting BSOD right after the green bar on start up? The only way to get around this is to disable AHCI and enable ATA from the BIOS. Is there a solution to this.

Secondly, when the IEEE 1394 is ENABLED in the BIOS, and when i start up, it freezes on the green bar? Is there a solution for this aswel?

    Please help/. cheers

btw im running vista home prem

If it's still working in ATA mode after you've installed the AHCI drivers, it's most likely something went wrong during the driver installation. I'd try to re-install the AHCI drivers (possibly following one of the many guides available here?) and see if that helps.

As for the Firewire issue, has this always been happening or just after your clean install? Assuming the latter, it's most likely a driver issue, or related to your failing AHCI.

You can ultimately try calling up Dell and seeing if they have any suggestions too. In general, I don't think it's terribly worthwhile to install the AHCI drivers, though.

I have tried reinstalling the AHCI driving. Im assuming its the Matrix Storage Manager? Still no luck.

I have called Dell aswell, they did not want to help me. I was on the phone for 1 hour whilst the rep was wasting my time. He advised me to get a new RAM?! I just hung up, it was like i was talking to a brick wall.
I asked him if i can get a tech to come and have a look at my laptop, and he said "NO" as i was out of warranty. I told him that i would pay for any service fees, and still declined it.
I have his full name and employee number which i will be sending thru a feedback complaint.
