    if XPS 16 is anything like the XPS 17, the graphics card is soldered to the motherboard and it would not be possible.

    yep dude,the GPU is soldered and theres no way u can keep a MXM gpu in it.BTW u can try external gpu solution nywayzz~

    The DIY dock wasn't really a solution for increasing video performance but really to get multi-monitors. And the 4670 is soldered onto the motherboard, you cannot just swap in another GPU.

    The DIY Vdock was to increase video performance, which is does, significantly. Though you're right, you have to plug it in to an external monitor, it won't display video on the laptop display.

    yep, if you already have a HDTV, going for ViDock like expansions is the best possible upgrade you can have.
