Hi all, I tried a quick search on the forums for this issue but I couldn't find a clear answer.

I use my Dell SXPS 1647 to watch movies on my HDTV via the HDMI port. This works fine as long as the laptop screen is lifted. As soon as I close the laptop screen (it's distracting) the HDMI audio switches back to the internal laptop speakers. When I checked the audio settings, it seems closing the lid causes the audio driver to report that the HDMI cable is not connected. Lifting the lid will enable HDMI audio again.

It doesn't seem to matter if I use PowerDVD, Media Center, Media Player, or Media Player Classic nor whether it's a DVD, BluRay, or Netflix stream. Anyone else experiencing this issue?
