We used to own the L502x & L702x line but have since upgraded to the latest 3rd gen Intel CPU's.

We now use Inspiron 17R SE series and Alienware m14x & m17x laptops and even though they have amazing specs, their speakers systems are no match for the legendary JBL 2+1 systems we had on our L502x & L702x systems.

This isn't just our personal opinions, many websites, Youtubers and customer agree.

Do you want Dell to bring these glorious speakers back? Please chime in!!

Dell now uses Skull and Klipsch speakers, is there any chance that they will go back to JBL?

We will definitely upgrade all of our computers systems again if Dell brings these speakers back!

I don't really care what brand they use, but I would absolutely love something that could match the JBLs of the last XPS line for power and quality. I wouldn't even mind if it was in an Alienware, except that Alienware laptops (as yet) don't offer matte screens, which is a must for me on a laptop. Offer these two, and a 9-cell battery option, and I'm sold.

Oh yea, matte screens too! I really miss the matte screen from my old L702x! If only there was a way to upgrade the CPU/GPU in my old L702x, then I would've kept it. The sound on that was AMAZING!!! The matte screen was AMAZING as well! We also had a L502x with the reflective screen. Although the L502x had that gorgeous B+RG LED display. You could easily tell that colors were more rich and popped on that screen.

My ideal laptop would have that B+RG LED IPS screen, in matte finish with JBL speaker system from the L702x with Wave Maxx audio. I think the Creative audio on Alienware is overrated. It wouldn't matter to me if the next gen only had Wave Maxx. The L702x + L502x speakers kick butt over the M14x R2 and M17x R4. We have all those machines, and the sound clarity and loudness are night and day.

I "upgraded" from a L702x to my M17x R4. Everything was an upgrade except for the screen and the speakers. The L702x had a matte screen and MUCH MUCH MUCH better sounding speakers!

The Alienware's Klipsch speakers are like this:

The L702x's JBL speakers are like this:

They are realy the best speakers I ever heard of or had in any laptop. So it would be realy great if dell brought back speakers like that in there newer laptops. But I think the problem for dell is, that these speaker take up a lot of space. So it should be difficult to fit speakers like that in a more slim laptop.

I really have no idea what the big thing is with slim laptops... It's at least 18" diagonally, for god's sake, why do people think making something that big less than an inch thick will be a good thing? Weight is one thing; a lighter laptop is a lighter laptop, but if we could have that extra, I dunno, 0.25" filled with hard drive bays (that could ship empty, so still light) or speakers, or battery (not light, but hey) or any other number of things, I'd much sooner go with that.

You can blame Apple for starting the "skinny is in" race.

Company's seem to follow Apple's lead, instead of being leaders themselves.
