Trying to see my Sony AVCHD camera using a HDMI cable I just got with mini end for camera and regular end for my Dell XPS LAPTOP.

It doesn't recognize it at all...

Would this be a driver issue? And where do I get the correct ones. or a control device area?
    Dell?
    Sony?

    One last question...
Where do we get our tag etc.# to get info from Dell or at least quicker response to a question.

    Thanks,
    Videokjman

The HDMI port on the laptop is an output port. You cannot use it as an input port to view video on the laptop.

The service tag is usually printed on a label found on the bottom of the laptop. If it is not there, you should be able to find it in the BIOS.

if you have a firewire port, you might be able to hook the camera up using firewire and view it
