I am looking at XPS M1530 at home site right now and I don't think I can pass on this sweet deal. I am about to buy it for my company uses, and since my company have filed for tax exempt in our state. Have anybody got tax exempt even you bought a notebook at Dell Home site? Or have anybody called Dell SMB and get the same speced system as in Dell Home price? Last night I tried to call and email the tax department about this but no reply yet. :( I am about to call Dell and find out myself but I am kind of busy at work right now. Phones are tied up. :(

    Thanks.

You may have to purchase under your companies EPP to get the exemption. Typically you cannot get them if you purchase under your personal home customer ID. I guess to ultimately find out when you call them.

Although, you probably won't get the home price through SMB, with that discount you still may save if you pay tax on a home purchase.

Sorry guys, I had one crazy day at the office. Never had crazier Saturday in my life.

    Anyways...
I just end up buying at Dell Home site. I looked into EPP deal, but I just ended up with E-Value one with less power. Since I don't game anymore, and only thing that I worried about was the overall text sizes. I ended up getting the 8400M GS and default resolution (1200X800). I am going to hand down my 700m to my neice and soon to be ebayed Toshiba is at their service center once again(both has 1200X800 resolutions) so I know how 1200x800 resolution look like and feel. Basically I know what I am getting myself into in graphic card and screen wise.

I am going to upgrade the ram myself and going to put the HD in Precision M90 to XPS M1530. And most probably wipe out the MS beta operating system (Vista), and put our corp licensed XP Pro in it for now. I know along the line I might open my system up and put AS5 on and upgrade the processor in process. But I don't want to void warranty so I'll see how it feels for now. And if I feel the need, the processor might get upgraded.

Looks like a pretty nice set-up you've got there and the price is pretty darn good considering the warranties included.

    Enjoy!

    Thanks!!!
    I am very excited.
    Yup!
Considering my setup include 3 years of peace of mind makes it very sweet.

When I clicked summited this afternoon, the estimated ship date was 1/4/08, but it hasn't passed acknowledged stage yet. I am starting to worry a bit.

I had submitted a similar deal and was in the acknowledgement stage for 2 days. I called Dell and they said it was not processed (they did not explain why). Now, it is confirmed and the estimated shipment on 1/8/08.

So I would give them a call.

Also, I noticed that you did not go for the next business day shipment which is free with this deal.

If nothing changes, I'll call them tomorrow about order status. Odd, when I order stuff from them it usally took minutes to get it processed. I guess their order process is kind of messed up there?

I didn't see the free next day shipping upgrade when I was ordering. I am pretty sure they will upgrade for next day shipping. Like they usually do. :D

Thanks for the heads up! :)

Yes, I agree. When I ordered the Vostro 1400 earlier this month, it took minutes to get confirmed (I am going to return the Vostro 1400 by the way). Just like you when I saw the deal on the M1530, I could not passed it up. But when I submitted an order for the M1530 a couple of day ago, it never got confirmed and it stayed in acknowledgement stage until I called them.

Man, I keep changing my mind. I canceled my order to the M1530 and I am going for the M1330. I found a deal that is even better than what I got on the M1530 and I prefer the compact size more.

    Ah...
You are talking about the EPP special. I saw it on slickdeals too. Too bad I am not looking for 13.3 notebook. Since you perfer portability over size. I would suggest you go for it. XPS deals are hard to come by. You never know when those people at Dell will end all the XPS deals all together.
I am happy with my purchase so far.

I am starting to worried and also getting frustrating. I just called Dell and the out sourced CS told me to wait another 2 days to see a order status on my order. As of now Dell have received my order and has not confirmed it. I gave my email address and the purchase ID #. She couldn't pull out anything!!!  Not even my previous orders!!!  Something is definitely wrong.

That is strange. When I called them, they were able to trace the purchase ID no. and confirm my order.

Later, I canceled the order on the M1530 and ordered the M1330 and got an acknowledgment and confirmation in a couple of minutes.

It suddenly showed up today, it's now in production. I asked about next day delivery but she couldn't do anything because nothing showed up on her record. I guess I'll have to call CS tomorrow and ask about Next day delivery. I wonder if they take a CS calls on Christmas day...
