Does anyone have a source for adapters for the mini-CDs for the slot-load optical drives? Sony used to sell them but I can't find anything using google or on the big auction site...

well i couldn't tell you about the slot loader for the m1330, but i have used mini cd's on my car's audio CD slot loader ( witch is very similar to the one on the computer) I just put it in the center and then it would play it.

I was able to load an 8cm cd without any problems. I didn't use any adaptors

I think they stopped producing them because apple patented them.

You had better luck than I did. The drive wouldn't accept mine but I was able to extract it. The owners manual says not to try it. :( Not very useful...otherwise I prefer the slot load but a lot of software is distributed on the miniCDs these days.

Seems the only way to do so is by copying the cd contents to a usb drive from a desktop or a normal tray lappy.

    Bugger...

If slotloads become more common, maybe the adapters will make a comeback. The notebook trayloads have always scared the ____ out of me...I'm always afraid I'm going to break the thing off. Never have, and I should probably worry about bigger things... ;)

It was a disc containing widcomm drivers for my desktop. I was just trying to see if I could use them on my laptop instead of the ones supplied by dell

    ahh, okay .

you could do as suggested, and copy the contents to a flash usb drive, from your desktop and plug it into your xps :D
