I bought my Wife a m1730 with a single 320gb drive a few months ago and she's already filled it up. Do I need to buy a kit from dell or is all the mounting equipment there already for adding a 2nd drive? Also, what drives do you recommend for the m1730?
Thanks much in advance.

Unlike the M17X you wont have to call Support...
No kit required. The exisiting cage can hold two HDDs.
I would stay away from Seagate drives - I have had bad luck with them and they have had issues recently. Just google 'Seagate Clicking Noise' and you'll have plenty of reading material.
I would say Western Digital, 320 or 500GB 7200RPM 2.5" SATA would be the one to look for.
HDD install for the M1730 is easy - see:

Also grab this manual on the M1730 - it has everything you will ever need...

When you remove the cage, be careful with the HDD Ribbon. Use light pressure when removing the ribbon from the drive. -
Thanks much for this info, I really appreciate it!!
