Hi
Anyone tried this yet to resolve poor reception/range issues.
I am getting this to replace N-1030 on my XPS17 machine, which I discovered was single band and not dual. ( I have dual band Apple router which maybe explains why older Intel 5300 dual band card on my XPS1640 got 200-plus mbps compared to the constant 65mbps from the N-1030 card.)
The new driver for the N-6230 is available from Dell driver webpage, just wondering if anyone has it installed and has it made any improvement?
Dell employee said there was no issues that he was aware of with the wireless cards in the XPS15/17 range..
Any feedback appreciated.
Regards.

I guess I haven't really noticed range issues... but I'm not pleased with the Intel 6230. Everytime I put the laptop to sleep, the bluetooth messes up. I have to go into device manager, disable and re-enable it. I haven't been able to figure that out yet. Also, I've got 50mbps cable internet, and when running speedtests on it, it is horrible. It will hover around 1mbps for a couple of seconds then act like it is going to go up to 50mbps then ultimately ends up showing 8mbps down. I can run the same test on my intel 5300 and I get 52mbps+ down.
I'm thinking about pitching the 6230 and going with something else. I hope I can find a good solution for BT after getting rid of the 6230.
Edit- this is only fixes/enhancement it shows for the July 15th driver update: [DF461566] QN: DW1702 BT can¡¦t send file more than 400KB to Intel BT 1030/6230 -
I reckon this is the same driver that intel released on the 12th

I was having a problem pairing with Bluetooth devices using the old driver. The Dell guy said it was because of Windows Updates and not a problem with the Hardware or Drivers because I could still detect other devices and send and receive files via Bluetooth.
Either way the new drivers seems to have fixed the problem as I can now pair via Bluetooth.
Though I did have a problem installing one of the new Network drivers even after repeatedly downloading and trying to install it. -
I haven't been too concerned about it because my WiFi seems to work OK when I'm on it and I don't have any bluetooth devices.
Thanx.
