Hey guys, I have the computer listed in my signature and I'm getting a replacement in a few weeks, and I do not yet know what the specs are. I am very hesitant about getting this replacement because of the bad experiences I have had with this computer so far. The rep offered me a full refund but that meant I would have to go a certain amount of time without a computer. I then told him just continue to process my current replacement, then when I received that, I would decide whether or not I would want to keep it. He then told me that he would expedite the current repair and it wouldn't be a problem to receive a refund in the future. The only problem I have is deciding what would be better than the SXPS, that I could buy for approx $2,200? Should I go alienware? Is the nvidia card in the M15X better than the ATI 4670? I guess I just have so many unanswered questions.

I think you answered your own question. If you had issues with the computer why take a gamble on another one if the problem(s) are do to design issues? If Dell is willing to give you a full refund I would take it. Wait for the money to show up and then buy something else.

As for not being without a computer you could always make do by going to the library or using a friends computer.

If you are a gamer there are other good choices out there like ASUS, Alienware, Toshiba and others. You could use the time you wait on your money to do further research to make sure the laptop you get next, has no inherent issues you couldn't deal with.

For example I couldn't buy an XPS 1530 knowing they use faulty Nvidia GPU's.

I suppose I'm just scared that I won't be pleased with any of my other options. I really do love my SXPS but I refuse to be stuck with the ATI 4670 again. I don't care if I just had a bad experience or not, I just refuse to risk that again. Even still, I will be receiving a replacement SXPS 16 in a few weeks and I guess I will see what it's like... If it isn't perfect I will be waiting to get my money back I suppose.
