After I updated the BIOS on M1210 the laptop doesn't start again. The power light start for seconds then goes off, I cannot hear the hard disk movement or any hardware except the power light....any help experts? :(

sounds like a bad BIOS flash. download the BIOS again, burn it to a NON-rewritable disc at a slow burning speed (x4 or x8), make sure the battery of the laptop is fully charged and the AC cable is inserted, and then flash the BIOS again.

qwireyss, a few things to consider.

    1. Did you have the computer plugged in when flashing.
    2. Did you hit any, and I mean any buttons or move/hit the machine while flashing.
    3. Does the bios logo pop up at all?
    4. The LED light on the power button can turn off on some models after you press it.
    5. Have you tried with the compute off, take out the battery, unplug and hold the power button for 5 seconds, then let it sit for 5 minutes and try again.

after you try the power, if you can access the bios, you may just be able to set the CD drive as the first boot device and reflash the bios

Unfortunately, if the bios is fried so much you can not access any menus you need to contact dell to replace the entire motherboard.

no, any changing of physical properties of the machine can remove dell from any type of responsibility for that problem.

No problem. I do this professionally, and I find that companies need to do the job right. Work smart or work hard, dell has the second down pact.

I am not sure about that, if you have warranty, contact them over that. If not, I would say post a message on the dell support page under unresloved issues. Tell them that a BIOS update (recommended) caused your computer to stop working.
